The Town of Granite Quarry will hold a legislative public hearing regarding an amendment to the Granite Quarry Development Ordinance to establish a new primary zoning district classification containing standards and specifications to accommodate the growth of commercial activity in the vicinity of Interstate 85 (I-85).  The proposed new district to be known as the “Interstate 85 Commercial District (C-85)”.  The amendment will also modify the Industrial (IND) District standards to add provisions for setbacks from local streets not classified as thoroughfares.  The draft is available at Town Hall and the Planning Department page of the Town website Granite Quarry, NC > Government > Ordinances (granitequarrync.gov) for review.

The Town of Granite Quarry will hold a concurrent legislative public hearing regarding petitions for both voluntary non-contiguous annexation and the initial zoning designation by Zoning Map Amendment (rezoning) to “Interstate Highway 85 Commercial (C-85) District” for the owner, Rowan Summit, LLC, of property located at 275 Tingle Drive, Salisbury NC 28146 (Rowan County Parcel ID 402C019) and 120 Rowan Summit Drive, Salisbury NC 28146 (Rowan County Parcel ID 402C009).  Approximately 2.08 and 1.57 acres.

The Town of Granite Quarry will hold a concurrent legislative public hearing regarding a petition for both voluntary non-contiguous annexation and the initial zoning designation by Zoning Map Amendment (rezoning) to “Industrial (IND) District” for the owner, Beacon SCC, LLC of property located at 125 Summit Park Drive, Salisbury NC 28146 (Rowan County Parcel ID 402C022).  Approximately 19.677 acres.

The Mayor and Town Council invite you to attend the hearings to share your comments on the proposed amendment to be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at 6:00 PM or as early thereafter as the agenda progression allows, at the Granite Quarry Town Hall, 143 N. Salisbury Avenue, Granite Quarry, NC 28146.
