On Thursday October 11th 2018 the town of Granite Quarry sustained damage from hurricane Michael. The town received approximately 6 inches of rain and significant wind gusts causing flash flooding, downed trees and power lines. Several homes were effected by the storm damage. The town had crews from Granite Quarry Police, Fire and Public Works working to safely help residents and clearing roadways. Limbs from the storm that were moved to clear roadways will be collected next week during our normal pick up schedule. We have not been updated by Duke Energy for an estimated time of restoring service for those without power. Any power related issues can be reported to Duke Energy at 1-800-769-3766.  Clean Up Pictures
